Group Counseling: CNED-720
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the theory and practice of group counseling. The course will provide information about and training in establishing, leading, and evaluating counseling groups of various types. Within this course students will explore different theoretical approaches to counseling groups, basic principles of group dynamics which include leadership tasks, group developmental stages, and member roles. Consideration will be given to ethical, legal, and professional issues.

Practicum: CNED-794
The purpose of Master’s Practicum is to integrate knowledge, skills, and dispositions into professional practices. Practicum is an experiential course, which includes the practice and application of counseling techniques with individuals, small groups, couples, and families. Counselor-trainees provide supervised counseling for clients at the NDSU Community Counseling Services (NDSU CCS). Counselor-trainees are also assigned a group counseling experience in the community.
